Sitter in Fairfax, Virginia

I have been babysitting since 1988 in the Fairfax area. Even after having my own children, a son who just graduated high school and my ten yr. old daughter, I continue to enjoy helping families and dedicating my life to the care of children. I worked as a preschool teacher during high school, college and graduate school for 12 years and have worked for Fairfax County Public Schools for the past 15 years as an elementary school teacher. I currently teach sixth grade in a writing program integrated with the visual and dramatic arts. I have a minor in Theatre and Art History and am a passionately arts and crafts fan! I have also taught third and fifth grades, so I am also able to tutor elementary school-age students, if needed. I am a single parent with a daughter, a 10 yr. old, who I would need to bring with me. She is very independent and will occupy herself. She also loves children and is a great helper! I have extensive experience with children of all ages, special needs, dietary restrictions, interests and personalities. I am certified in First Aid/CPR, Emergency Response, Epi-pen trained, Anaphylaxis trained, and have had extensive criminal history and background checks as an employee of FCPS. I am looking to find a family that I can develop a positive relationship with this summer and hopefully become their regular babysitter for evenings and weekends. I have both a dog and a cat so I am extremely comfortable with pets.
