Hello, My name is Meilang and I live near UBC/Point Grey. I love reading, baking, playing games, singing, ballet, etc. I am currently a third year student at UBC and am in the process of getting a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Studies. I am working towards my goal of getting a degree in education as I plan on being an elementary school teacher. During the summer of 2017, I volunteered at a children's language camp at UBC. I worked with children from 5-11 years old and played games with them, read to them, helped them with crafts, and assisted them with writing. I used to be a nanny for a 4.5 year old boy and a 1.5 year old girl. I played with them, read to them, and helped tidy up their house. I was also a nanny for a 3 year old boy for 1.5 years. I read and sang to him. I played with LEGOs, Play-Doh, and games with the him I also took him out to the library, bookstore, playground, etc. I am currently a nanny for a girl who turned 4 recently but will no longer be working with the family by mid January as they live outside of Vancouver for half of the year. I did some housekeeping duties including taking out the trash, garbage, and compost and folding laundry. I played imaginary games with the girl, colored and painted with her, and played with Play-Doh. I took the girl to the community center for music class, had lunch with her, played with her at the community center, and then dropped her off at preschool. I have valid Standard First Aid, CPR-C, and AED training.
