Sitter in Whitewater, Wisconsin

I'm an
Individual
Overview: Hello my name is Cassidy. I'm seeking a child care worker position in Whitewater, Wisconsin. I'm hoping to utilize my skill as a child care worker. My availability is flexible. Services And Training: I have experience with play date supervision, afterschool care, and travel support. I are comfortable working with sick children. I have extensive prior history in the role. I am dependable and am very dedicated to my work when it comes to babysitting. I grew up occasionally watching over my little cousin who was born 100deaf. She received surgery for cochlear implants, but still learned sign language anyway due to her having to remove her implants when she was swimming, showering, etc. In results to that I also learned sign language as well to help our communication. I was a gymnastics coach for toddlers and also for the advanced elementary aged students. From there I began to nanny (when needed) for one of my students and her brother. Responsibilities for that included outdoor activities, making them dinner, reading, and doing homework. At the age of sixteen, my little brother was born and at times was left to look after him. In results to that I am very experienced with infants and toddlers. My mother and I worked together to teach my brother sign language before he learned how to speak. Our reasoning for that being it took my brother longer than usual to learn how to talk. By us teaching him basic sign language, we were able to communicate during the time he didn't speak. He was then put in speech classes and I assisted him while we were at home to work on his words that were provided by his teacher. In addition to my other past nanny and babysitting jobs, I was also an Autism Technician for Mercy Hospital. My duties for that included going to my patients house and worked with him/her to make a set schedule for that session based off of their previous sessions notes. Some of the things included in that schedule would be folding laundry, loading or unloading the dishwasher, sensory activities, working on social skills, recognizing and identifying expected/unexpected, etc. After that session I would have to fill out a chart noting how he/she did in each category. If the patient did well that session, I would reward them with a sticker. Once patient has reached nine stickers, he/she would get a "free session" the next time, meaning that we did whatever they wanted for that entire session. I believe positive reinforcement is very important when working with others. I would then email the team leader that I had completed that session. Before leaving I would also touch base with patients family in regards to what needs to be worked on and what he/she did well. I feel that my experience in babysitting/nannying makes me a great candidate for other jobs in this field. How To Contact Me: Call me through this website and I should reply shortly.
