Hi, my name is Sarah Foster and I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator. I am offering daycare spots at my new home daycare, Discovery Kids Daycare. I offer a home-based daycare with a centre approach. I have consistent routines and transitions and circle times full of songs, stories and group activities. I offer structured activities based off the ELECT document to help children work through the many developmental milestones. Arts and crafts is offered throughout the day to help children be as creative as they want. Throughout the day I offer plenty of gross motor activities both indoor and outdoors to help them burn off the energy they gain throughout the day. I am registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators and have my current Standard First Aid and CPR-C. I am a mother to a very active almost 4 year old. I am very energetic and love to live life to the fullest. Working with children has always been my dream and I worked very hard to get to where I am. I travelled to Africa to volunteer with a group called The Breath of Life. We were a group of students and faculty from Algonquin College who travelled to Tanzania, Africa to provide two educational streams, Helping Children Thrive and Helping Children Breath. I was helping provide the stream Helping Children Thrive. We helped promote gender equality, school is for everyone, and nutrition/dental hygiene. We provided this program through interactive activities such as games, colouring, friendship bracelets as well as a lecture about dental hygiene. It was a great three week adventure and it taught me so much and gave me an experience like no other. Feel free to send me a message if you are interested.
