With a diploma from George Brown College and a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Ryerson University, I have had several experiences working in the field of education. I have worked at many childcare centres, schools, and aftercare programs. I also have experience providing enriched learning lessons, tutoring, and experience working with children who have special needs. I have spent the last four years of my life working in a fullday kindergarten classroom for an Ontario school board. However, I am making a career change in September, where I will be attending the Masters of Teaching program at OISE (University of Toronto) in order to earn my certification as an Ontario teacher. I have lots of availability over the summer. As an educator, I am committed to developing confident, independent learners who are encouraged to apply their curiosity and creativity towards solving problems and learning. I believe in teaching children strong personal character and engage children in outreach initiatives, leadership opportunities and conflict resolution skills. I make every effort to give the children I work with the tools and language needed to regulate their emotions, self-reflect, and use these skills in all areas of their lives. I strive to empower children to think deeply about their community, and how their actions affect the people around them. Overall, I am a tenacious, energetic and compassionate individual. In my free time I participate in public speaking opportunities. I am a member of two Speaker’s Bureau, and am a regular guest lecturer at the University of Toronto, Ryerson University, and George Brown College. I also have experience providing workshops, presentations, and speeches to both small and large groups across Toronto. I have my CPR/First Aid, Police Reference Check, BMS Training and Restorative Practice Training. I also have a valid drivers licence
