Hi, my name is Abigail! I'm a 17 year old senior in high school and throughout the last 4 years I've had many experiences taking care of children. At 13 and 14, I was the assistant preschool Sunday school teacher at my local church until I was 15 and became a 1st and 2nd grade teacher. In high school, I'm enrolled in a program called PALs or Peer Assitant Leadership program which basically involves being a mentor to younger troubled kids and meeting with them one period a day to help them get homework done and talk about their issues and just have a good time. I've been this program for 2 years as one of the mentors. This summer I worked at a camp with kids who had juvenile arthiritis and got to know each of my 3rd graders personalities within week. Watching them break out of their shells made me appreciate the authenticity in childhood and I hope one day I can witness your child's personality in the same way..thank you for considering me !
