I am loving caretaker who can't wait to help your family. I love being with children - my favorite things to do are play games, read books and make craft projects. I spend a lot of time researching new activities specific to the interests and skills of each child. For example, the 4-year old boy I currently work with loves coloring and is learning to write his name. I found some great worksheets that we practice each day. The 6-year old girl I work with loves craft projects, which is a great chance for me to share my love of knitting with her. We made a hat on a loom together. Their 2-year old brother loves Thomas the Tank Engine and Curious George. Each week I request a few Thomas and George books from the library for him - he loves it! Me and the kids love to bake. We also like to play outside in the sunshine. The sandbox is always a favorite! I work with their parents to understand their parenting goals, and I do everything I can to support them. These children put away their laundry, clean up their plates after meals, and pick up their own toys and projects. The kids are on a schedule, I find that most kids thrive when things are consistent. I make sure the schedule works for the parents and adjust when needed. Safety is very important to me. When I first started, I walked through the house with the parents and together we identified potential concerns. (Choking hazards, electrical outlet dangers, sharp edges, etc.) I have my CPR and infant choking certifications, but I hope to never have to use them! I keep a close eye on the kids and do everything I can to keep them safe in all environments. I like to make sure the parents come home to a peaceful home. I prepare dinners when asked using their recipes, make lunches and snacks for the kids, and wash and fold laundry. (The kids help to their ability level.) I make sure the kitchen is clean and the toys are put away, and I do some vacuuming when the floors need it. The children are always my first priority, but if they are napping or having some quiet time I am happy to spend the time helping in other ways. The services I provide: pet care, light house cleaning, cooking, and laundry as well as child care. Have been taking care of children since I was thirteen. Have Daycare and preschool experience.
