I am a full-time student at NYU, perspective pediatric surgeon, and CPR certified. I am available for short-notice babysitting as well as weekends and most weeknight. I started working with children as a math tutor all throughout high school. I facilitated study sessions, created review sessions, and taught skills for successful test-taking. I pride myself on my patience and eagerness to help kids when they're struggling. On the weekends, I volunteered at Faith Church Day camp with two other volunteers. I love working with younger children because I was able to read and play on the playground with them. Younger children also require constant attention, so I was able to spend more time with them learning how to better read children's needs. During my summers, I work at Mohawk Day Camp as general and bus counsellor. As a general counsellor, I was responsible for seven kids and led them through their daily activities. We sang a lot of songs and pretended to be princesses as we moved from activity to activity. I swam with them during swim instruction, played sports with them so that they would be more willing to engage, and served their lunches. I also took care of any potty accidents they had, reapplication of sunscreen, and changing after swim instruction. Moreover, I enjoy working with children and I haven't had the opportunity to recently because I have moved to Manhattan for University. As noted above, I would like to pursue a career as a pediatric surgeon and therefore I value any job experiences I obtain with children.
