A Head Teacher is needed for our new innovative, activity based Childcare/early learning center! Head Teacher will be responsible for the development and implementation of curriculum and appropriate activities for the new child care program. The right candidates for this position will possess a high set of standards and work ethics including: Extreme reliability. Good organizational skills. A natural love for children. Regular duties include (but not limited to): Able to exercise sound judgment and common sense in decision-making Preparing lesson plan Establishes Goals Guiding children during lesson time Creating class projects Interacting with, and supervising teachers, aides and children throughout the day. Establish stable routines and consistent boundaries and limits that are responsive to the needs of the children Maintain accurate records and documentation as required Responsible for the overall supervision and daily program functions Responsibility for necessary housekeeping duties of the child care area(s). Supervise and help train Teachers & Aides in routines and Childcare regulations. Head Teacher must be at least 18 years of age and meet ONE of the following educational/experience requirements: 1) Bachelors or Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related degree. 2) One year state or nationally recognized credential (CDA) related to preschool age children. 3) Completion of 20 semester credits or 30 quarter credits from a college or university in a related field AND at least one year of qualifying teaching experience in a Certified Child Care Center or comparable group care program in the care of preschool age children. 4) At least two years of qualifying teaching experience, with at least one year as teacher, in a Certified Child Care Center or comparable group care program in the care of preschool age children. 5) Documentation of attaining at least Step 8.5 in the Oregon Registry.
