Hello! I am a Masters Level educated music therapist (therefore, I sing, play piano, guitar, and ukulele!). At 27, I've experience working w/infants, children and teens (neurotypical, special needs, neurological disorders, medical needs, mental health, comorbid) as a professional music therapist, nanny, camp counselor, and voice teacher. Children are my passion. I love to hike, rock climb, camp, cook, and write music in my spare time. I will be working at Sounding Joy Music Therapy, a non-profit based in Honolulu. Looking for a position to complete 20-25 hours during the week. I will be available 3 days a week on either Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays. Description of Skills: I am a driven, fervent music therapist looking to also be a caregiver part-time. I love working with children and use humor, play and authenticity to build strong relationships with those I care for. I am multi-skilled as I have an allied health background and can use music to engage children I work with. I have experience with people across the life span, both neurotypical and with special needs. I am knowledgeable in child development, the importance of creative play vs. structured play, behavioral management techniques, and more.
