Sitter in Ottawa, Ontario

I'm 38 years old with many years of experience caring for children of all ages. I have a 16 year old and a 6 year old with special needs. with a passion for social justice and dignity for all, I completed a 2 year diploma program in Social Service Work and specialize in resources for families and community organization and engagement. I've recently moved to the Ottawa area (Alta Vista). I worked as a Peer Advocate in Perth at The Table Community Food Center for five years, providing resources and referrals within the community. We had gardening programs, after school care and many cooking classes for young people with an emphasis on healthy eating and where our food comes from. One of my favorite times was with all the grade 6 classes from the Perth area, we gathered to make protest signs about child hunger and protested chanting down the main street, a very inspiring day. I'm kind, caring and passionate. I currently have spaces available, and am looking for little or big kids to fill their time either before and after school or during the day, with fun learning and play. With a huge colorful playroom separate from the house kids will enjoy crafts, story telling, free time and lots of outdoor play when weather permits in our huge backyard or the park down the street. I have internet connection for big kids if internet is needed for homework or research with a printer. I'm certified in CPR and first aid and have a valid drivers license. Close to schools and CHEO
