Sitter Job in Kitchener, Ontario

Our family is looking for an energetic individual to watch our two boys ages 3yrs and 15mo on a part-time bases (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday), at our home near the Conestoga College Doon Campus. The position would start on Thursday September 7. Qualifications: • Early Childhood Education certification or current enrolment • First aid and CPR certifications • 3 years experience caring for babies and children ranging in ages from 1-5 • Successful Police background check • Licence and vehicle in order to commute to our home and in case of emergency Primary Responsibilities: • Sole responsibility is to care for the children • Engage children in educational activities – crafts, games, puzzles etc Hours: Monday 7:30am – 11:30am (4hrs) Tuesday 10am – 5pm (7hrs) Thursday 8am – 12pm (4hrs) 1 “float” hour as needed (perhaps Tuesday til 6pm) Total = 16 hours per week Salary: $14 / hour x 16 hours per week = $224 per week Optional Responsibilities: While the following are not mandatory for the position, we are open to including additional responsibilities in order to supplement the number of work hours per week, such as: • Occasional evening babysitting • Occasional “heavy weeks” where an additional 5-10 hours of childcare would be required to cover work related travel • Housekeeping About us: We are a tight knit family of 5 who are very active. Our oldest son is in senior kindergarten. The younger two boys (aged 15 months and 3 years) stay home. Our 3 year old does not nap, but our 15-month old will take a 1-2 hour nap mid-day. There are plenty of activities at our house that will keep the boys occupied, including a large yard that is fun to explore. We have a Labrador retriever who is very low maintenance. Mommy works as a teacher during the hours listed above. Daddy works full time in Waterloo, with monthly business trips ranging from 2-5 days.
