Thank you for reading my post -- I have over 20 years' experience in child care, most recently worked for a private daycare for 20 years in Palo Alto. My job was to nurture, educate, and care for children. I am available to babysit for busy professional parents. I have outlined some of my daily responsibilities at the daycare I worked for below. I am a mother of 2 wonderful grown children, and have been around children all my life. Please contact me for any questions. • Conducted and kept track of activities created for children, to discover personal interest, create skills and independence, and construct self-esteem • Helped to socialize children, teach them how to get along with other children, and get ready for much more formal schooling • Attended employee meetings to talk about progress and issues with children • Assisted the school director in retaining records and maintain daycare gear and help housekeeping duties • Lead children in actions by telling or studying stories, teaching songs, demonstrating using musical instruments • Provided guidance on children's behavior and social development • Responsible for observing and applying development programs • Maintained an environment that was very clean, appealing and safe
