Caregiver for Child with Special Needs - Tuesday, Wednesdays Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Sunday Morning until Monday Morning My wonderful daughter is 10.5 years old. She is cheerful, intelligent, has a great personality, and has motor and verbal challenges due to cerebral palsy. We live in Glencoe. This opportunity is a long term position. We are looking for someone who is interested in a commitment for at least one year, ideally many. We are open to anyone who is sincere and committed. The position has been a great fit for people who are studying special education, social work, nursing, CNA, developmental, recreational, and occupational therapy. Available Position: Tuesday and Wednesday summer hours are from 9:00 am until 7:00 pm. Certain nights I would need you to stay later if needed until 8:00 pm or as late as 9:30 pm on occasion. We are looking for someone who can make this commitment on an ongoing consistent basis. During the school year, the Tuesday, Wednesday hours starts at 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Weekdays, there is a small amount of time which involves watching my 5.5 year old son for an hour after school or during dinner. This special person must be: -Open minded and be prepared to learn new therapy techniques. -Able to swim -Strong, (able to lift 60 lbs) -Organized, responsible, energetic, caring, patient, flexible, committed, easygoing. And: -Must have a driver's license -Must have a passport and be able to travel internationally Responsibilities include: -Meal preparation, clean up. -Light housekeeping, laundry, folding laundry, taking out garbage and recycling. -Swimming. -General hygiene - dressing, toileting, tooth brushing, bathing -Feeding -Driving to therapy appointments if necessary. -Keeping schedule organized.
