Part-time Help Wanted - Babysitter Gates Mills area Seeking honest, dedicated, pleasant individual to babysit part-time Mondays from 2-6PM and Fridays from 2-10PM for two toddler girls. Child-care experience and the ability to engage and interact and play with children is a must. Classes or a degree in childhood development is a plus. This is hoped to be a long-term position. LOCATION: GATES MILLS SALARY RANGE - $22 - $24/hour SUMMARY: FUNCTION AND SCOPE The Babysitter helps with childcare, laundry, cooking, cleaning, along with running errands and taking care of the family pets as needed, including walking dogs. Additionally, occasionally there may be times the Babysitter will be asked to spend a night or weekend, plenty of advance notice will be given. PRIMARY DUTIES: • Care of two young children including feeding, putting down for naps and bathing • Cleaning, picking-up and bed-making in kids’ rooms along with light laundry • Reading to children • Playing outside with kids no matter the weather • Take children swimming • Incorporating imaginative and sensory play, crafts and puzzles • Take on outings to museums, to play dates and on walks as needed • Dress and brush teeth of toddlers • Cooking and preparing meals for children • Walking & feeding dog as needed • Helping family with errands and shopping POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Skills/Competencies: • Child focused • Ability to interact with children • Good communication skills, accept feedback and direction easily • Positive attitude, cheerfulness, respectfulness • Ability to interact with children REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Three or more years of childcare experience, preferably for toddlers through early childhood • CPR certificate required • Knowledge of basic first aid required • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record • Ability to read, write and speak English.
