Hello, my name is Bianca. I’m a 21year old current medical student at FIU Experience: I have worked with children with disabilities since I was 16, beginning with tutoring children that were between the ages of 5-11. Then, at 19, I became certified to work with people with disabilities. I have a certification through the Agency of People with Disabilities in Zero Tolerance and Direct Care Core Competencies as well as CPR certification, which allowed me to work in assisted living facilities with both children and adults with disabilities. Additionally, I am the founding president of Splash Pals at USF, which is an organization that aims to provide healthy stimulation and social interaction through aquatic activities for children with developmental disabilities. These experiences have given me the motivation to seek out more roles in which I could be of service to those with developmental disabilities, especially in future career.
