Sitter Job in Bellingham, Washington

About The Job: **Background check and references required. Positive, CAN DO attitude a must! Fun, high energy family of entrepreneurs looking for a babysitter and/or nanny for 1 to 5 children (depends on the day), including one infant, two school agers and two preteens. Schedule is 8:30 to 3 p.m. several days a week. Ability to pick up from bus Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday required. It's within walking distance. Responsibility #1 Make sure our infant receive the absolute best loving care while keeping the kiddos attending class (they mostly do it themselves, they need reminders to login and stay on task sometimes). There are five kids with bizarre schedules, so this requires a positive attitude and flexibility. Infant sleeps odd hours and requires bottle feeding, rocking, walking and of course play! Kindergartener and 2nd grader attend in-person school M, T, Th, Fr so he won't be home until you pick him up from the bus at 1:30. They have digital school on Wednesday so you'll have them all day. 5th and 6th grader attend online school Monday thru Friday so they need help staying on task and reminders to do their homework. ALL children need reminders to clean up after themselves (except the infant), do their chores and finish their schoolwork. Responsibility #2 Light Cleaning Required Running laundry (no sorting/folding unless you love that sort of thing!), loading/unloading dishwasher, wiping down kitchen, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors - only when you're not busy with the kiddos. Light cooking required for kids (we're talking PB&J or macaroni and cheese, nothing fancy). MUST Be capable of handling children (and an infant) without supervision, so previous experience with an infant IS required. Both mom and dad work from home (blended family) although we need the ability to dash out to meetings every once in awhile. THINGS TO KNOW We're a liberal household with children on the 'pride' spectrum, so make sure you're comfortable with that before applying. We smoke (outside only) so it shouldn't interfere with your life. We have a very sweet old dog who might follow you around. The house is frequently messy, that's why we need you to keep kids on task and on top of chores! **Background check and references required.
