My natural instincts to care for others have always been very strong, even as a child I was always trying to teach/help/look out for the younger children. I am the aunt of 4 boys and have lots of very hectic experience babysitting them! I was an enthusiastic, volunteer participant in a program at my high school called "Friday Friends" last year. This program matched younger elementary children with an older "Friday Friend" to play various academic games, and read books to one another on Friday afternoons. I always seemed to be a favorite because at the end of each session, children would be arguing over who was going to be my Friday Friend next and during my lunch period, the first graders would yell my name, run up to hug me, and beg me to sit with them at their first grade lunch table! (Which of course, I could never refuse!) I have also previously worked in food service at an assisted living home, and would constantly find myself exceeding my duties as a server to take extra special care of the residents. I am always trying to lend a helping hand, and make people smile in whatever ways I can! I have started exploring a career in "Human Development" and "Early Childhood Development" through online courses to begin seeing how I could turn my passion to care for others into a career. I have MANY reputable references that i would be pleased to provide you with, many of which are staff members at the elementary schools I volunteer at. I enjoy art and reading. I am an animal lover and I love to be outdoors. I currently work from home creating and selling vintage button jewelry, which helps feed my love for art. I'm adaptable and flexible, would love to not only responsibly help you keep an eye while you cannot, but fill your children's time with giggles, help them practice sports, or work on any school projects!
