Hello! I am a college freshman seeking to work weekend date nights. I currently attend John Brown University as an English Education major. I hope to teach at the middle and/or high school level after graduation. I adore children; they're so precious and fun! I love to see them grow and become excited about the things they're into and about their every new experience. :) I am blessed by every opportunity with children; their perspective is so joyous and creative! While taking care of children, I strive to provide a safe, clean, organized, and fun environment in which they can play and learn to the fullest! I am a regular childcare volunteer and paid childcare worker at my home church; I have done this for the past 6-7 years. As part of a school career preparation program in my junior year of high school, I assisted teachers in a preschool classroom of 3-5-year-olds for two hours a day, teaching them and fostering their development through play, interaction, and instruction. As part of that class, I took child care and child development courses for certification in those subject areas as well. Senior year, I was part of a teacher preparation program at my high school in which I spent 1.5 hours a day assisting in elementary and middle school classrooms for one semester each. While there, I assisted the teachers, built relationships with students, and learned classroom management, lesson planning, and teaching skills. I am also a background-check-approved volunteer in my home school district. The summer after I graduated in 2018, I nannied full time for a four year old boy. I helped the boy's mom around the house in addition to working on school with him, doing arts and crafts, and faciliating times of reading, movement, music, and (lots of) play! We had a great summer! I am CPR and First Aid certified for all ages as of mid-May 2018. A few of my hobbies include reading, drawing (or anything artsy), daydreaming, writing, spending time with loved ones, reading my Bible, watching movies, and playing with my pets at home.
