A word about pets in the home: We do have furry friends in the in home Pre K. There is Jack the famous cat. He is a lovable old rag doll and is up to date on shots. We also have Molly a sweet and small dachshund beagle, who mostly likes to keep to herself. She sometimes accompanies us on walks but other than that she does not come in the children's spaces. It is quite common to have pets in home daycare. Many households have assorted pets (sometimes more than one) that are considered one-of-the-family. Children learn from being around animals. One important benefit is that children talk to animals, thereby having a way to deal with their feelings. In helping to take care of a pet, they also develop responsible behavior.
