Sitter in Iron Station, North Carolina

I am a mother of 4, ages 18-26, with 3 still living at home. They are in & out all day for work & college, so they are hardly home. I have been caring for children of all ages since I was 12yrs old. 1 child had a lot of disabilities. I care for children in my own home, so I can be here for my own children as well, even though they are older. I am always available for my own children, just as I would be for you & your children! I have plenty of activities for children to do. I help teach them to recognize, know, & write their letters, numbers, names, & whatever else they need to be ready for kindergarten. I let each child pick out their own, age appropriate work books, a binder or folder, so that they can show you what they have achieved that day or week, whichever they or you prefer. If you have your child on a set schedule, I will stick to that schedule. I do like to take them for a trip to the library, with your permission of course, especially during story hour. We usually go once a week, sometimes twice if the weather is awful. I allow each child to take a book or two back to my house with them to read together throughout the week. We moved into a new house and I am still working on building some play equipment outdoors. I am going to start working on a sandbox with a cover, so that any neighborhood cats will not get into it. I am also hoping to get a swing set as soon as possible. I have a few bicycles with helmets to ride, also. I love to do crafts with the children, indoors & out. I love to bake with them, too. As for infants, I have toys for them to play with, a bassinet for a newborn to sleep in, & a booster high chair. I need to start looking out for baby equipment, like a swing, bouncy seat, play mat, & walker or exersaucer.. Since I haven't had an infant around in a few years, but I'm going to hold off on those items until I'm absolutely positive I'll be watching an infant. As for being a long time sitter, I was caring for a little boy up until 2yrs ago. He was 7 months old when I began watching him & was 7yrs old (2yrs ago) when I ended. I had that child for 10yrs! I still see him & remain good friends with his parents. As for myself, I am dependable, caring, generous, fun loving, trustworthy, have a great sense of humor, & I just love kids!
