The perfect candidate LOVES children, is upbeat and energetic with an abundance of patience. Our daughter has an array of development delays, behaviour challenges and communication issues- although is very social and loving and has a lot to give back!! This fun loving, friendly caregiver MUST have their OWN RELIABLE transportation as she is involved in a variety of activities. Kyra is into basketball, cheerleading, swimming, horseback riding and also loves singing and painting. Readiness and enthusiasm for participation in and assistance with her many activities is required. We are looking for someone who is CONFIDENT, has a desire to learn about autism and some of the very unique needs of our 11 year old (Grade 5) daughter. Training is available, so experience is not mandatory, but a genuine interest and awareness of differing abilities is an asset. We are looking for an aide to make a LONG TERM commitment in supporting her in becoming an independent young adult; helping her to find her way in to becoming a contributor to society. Her needs include support and assistance in keeping her physically and emotionally safe, with aide in fundamental life skills and social development. As well, assist with her academic advancement and therapeutic goals, and take the time to introduce her to the many opportunities that the world has to offer while finding her strengths, interests and abilities as she matures. We are Full Time working parents with unpredictable schedules and require someone with flexibility. This is a 20 - 25 hours per week job, includes 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Monday to Thursday during the school year, and may require some additional time during the evening, as well as, Saturdays and any ½ day or full day school closures. Additional hours available in summer and during school breaks. Wages negotiable and are very fair to the right person!
