Sitter in Rocky River, Ohio

As my first job in child care, I worked in a health facility as a nursery attendant. I was in charge of children ages 6 months-10 years. I could have as many as 8 children at any time. After moving away to go to college at the University of Akron for Speech-Language Pathology, I worked at a camp through the YMCA. I was a camp counselor that was in charge of a group of 13-17 year-old boys. I assisted them in the daily activities of camp. I came up with creative ways for everyone to participate, no matter the disability. I assisted in feeding with a g-tube and worked around food allergies. I also assisted with bathroom, if need be. After completion of the summer camp, I am a nanny for a child with severe autism. I made his meals, administered medication, and took care of his basic needs. I would usually care for him after school and also on weekends. I would take him places (Target, Hobby Lobby, the park) to work on social skills and have fun!
