Hola familia! I'm Pau, I'm 27, I have a bachelors in Psychology and am an EMT and have several certificates with the American Heart Association regarding infant, child and adult care including Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support among others. I have a lot of experience working and being around kids, from newborns to teenagers, I've worked with pretty much all ages but my main focus is to work with children since it's where I really find joy. I'm a firm believer that to work with kids you have to have passion and desire to be super patient and actually make a good connection, you have to be super flexible and know how to be one step ahead of them with activities and new things to do, to do it right. I have experience working with several kids at the same time, back home I'm an English teacher at a kindergarten, I have 16 kids in my classroom so I have my share of experience working with all of them at the same time. Regarding the qualities, I believe that to work with kids in general you have to be flexible, it's a must, although it works if you as the adult have structure and are organized, you have to have an open mind, lots of imagination and just sort of go with the flow. I love working with my hands, I'm very crafty and outdoorsy, I believe a big part of a child's development is improved by reading to them. I think that the children's job is to get dirty and explore the world that way, so I'm always super excited to do different activities that keeps them entertained and for me the more kids can be outside the house, the better. I know how to drive and feel comfortable driving with children. I know how to cook Mexican dishes, (they are delicious) and love to bake cakes and make desserts. I'm a fast learner, I'm sure if you show me how you like stuff to be done once I'll be able to take it on my own from there. I have a tendency to smile all the time, and have a very simple sense of humor. For me life has to be taken with humor to enjoy it! I'm a host family I'd like to have someone who I can learn from and with whom I can share my culture with. I'd like to be as part of your family as much as you allow me and over all have a good experience and a new adventure. Big hug, P.
