Agency / Company
Interview 1. Tell us about your current job (or most recent): when you started; your role and your responsibilities? I found my family I am currently with now on Care...... I started working for them in 2014, and have loved it ever since. I have the privilege of taking care of two children who are now ages 2 and 4. We love to exercise, swim, play games, read books, sing, laugh, color, and just be silly together. They sure teach me a lot about life! They love to learn too and are growing very quickly as children do! My responsibilities include cleaning up after the children, giving occasional baths, making sure they're fed, loving them, being patient with them, washing their clothes, teaching them, keeping them safe, creating a comfortable learning environment for them, and transporting them when needed in my car. BEING A NANNY IS SUCH A REWARDING JOB. It's living a my passion. 2. Why do (did) you want to leave your current job? The children that I am looking after right now are both going to be in school now, so it is time for me to move on to a new family. I am sad to leave, but happy and excited to find a new family to serve, teach, and love their children! 3. What were your previous salaries and benefits in your last three positions? I'll definitely let you know this info when we talk over Skype! 4. What are your long-term interests and goals? I hope to eventually move to a country that is in need and spend many years serving the people there, also I want to have my own children one day. 5. Why do you want to be a nanny / Au Pair (again)? I have a lot of love, guidance, patience, and goofiness to give to children. I genuinely enjoy being around children and teaching them, learning from them, helping them see their gifts, and letting them be themselves in every way. I also enjoy helping to make the lives of the children's parents easier and to share stories with them of the joys of their children's lives. I appreciate and love the ability to grow and learn from every new experience. 6. Where would you most like to live and work if you could be anywhere? .............anywhere near nature. 7. Are you seriously considering any other jobs at the moment? Please describe what you like and don't like about each one. I am only considering working as a nanny as of now. I really love being a nanny! 8. What is your timeframe for making a move? I would be able to move as soon as September 1st, 2016. The latest date I would move would probably be early/late November, 2016. 9. What key things are you looking for in your next job? The new experiences, challenges, lessons, and opportunities to grow that await. I am looking forward to developing a relationship with the children and parents. I am looking forward to learning all that I can! 10. What are the most important factors you will use to decide which job you accept? I'm hoping to find a genuine family that is trusting and can see the best in others. A family who is loving and can feel free to be themselves around me...however goofy they might like to be! I'm goofy. Especially with the kiddos :) 11. What do you think makes you uniquely qualified to serve as an AuPair or Nanny? I'm going to give your children genuine care, love, and affection. I feel it is my duty if I am taking care of your children to treat them with the greatest care that they deserve. 12. Can you describe what you feel to be an ideal working environment? Yes. One where we are free to go outside at will, sing, laugh, run, play, and make messes (I would clean up after the kids of course). I just hope to be in an environment that is not restrictive for the kids. Kids should be able to learn and grow in so many ways! 13. Can you give me some examples of how you receive constructive criticism? Sometimes the parent's I currently work for ask me to say things in a particular manner to their children, or request for me to say certain things to their children in hopes that they will respond in a positive way. I always respect their wishes and do my best to communicate to their children in ways that they feel are unique and special for their children's specific needs. I really love when the parent's feel comfortable to share advice with me. I honor their wishes. 14. What kind of people do you find it most difficult to work with? Why? Anyone who I find is difficult to work with is usually someone who is not able to share love and appreciation for those around them. This makes situations and communication difficult because in order for cooperation to exist there must be both parties that are willing to learn and grow from one another. Also, materialistic individuals. If your child breaks a lamp, I really hope you can see it as a simple object that has broken and not turn the situation into something it doesn't have to become. :) 15. What types of things frustrate or upset you most? I do not get frustrated or upset often, if at all. I have learned to be at peace when situations, my health, or loss occurs in life. I suppose that the day I lose my mom and dad or sister or brothers, I will be frustrated for a time, but I will find peace once again. 16. How do you resolve conflicts? I have learned to choose love over fear/anger. It is not always easy, but it is a choice, and one that I can make in any and every situation where a conflict may arise between I and another. Most of the time, I find that many conflicts that arise between people could be easily mended or entirely avoided by choosing loving ways to respond instead of reacting in anger or fear which can end up hurting someone. 17. Can you tell us about your previous experiences as an AuPair or nanny? Yes! I was a Certified Nursing Assistant at an assisted living home two years ago and I really enjoyed it. I loved sharing beautiful and peaceful moments with the people I took care of. I enjoyed learning from them, and tending to their unique needs in the most loving way. I always took my time with each client, and usually ended my shift 30 to 60 minutes late because of that. I didn't mind it one bit because I genuinely grew to love and care for these people. As a nanny I have seen myself grow from a young girl into a woman over the past 2 years. I have learned so much from these children, and I have learned a lot about myself as well. I have developed a level of patience I never knew was possible, and boy am I grateful! Children just seem to bring out the very best in me and I am thankful to be with them each and every day as they learn and grow along with me in life. 18. What were the most difficult challenges you had to overcome in each job? As a CNA, the most difficult challenge was that I witnessed some things that were very hard to see. Some people who I became friends with were very close to death and I watched as they quickly lost their ability to walk, see, communicate, and eat. As a nanny, the most difficult challenges have been when the children are really sick and there is nothing I can do to help them except be present with them. 19. Why did you leave? I left my job as a CNA because I realized that it was time for me to move on to a new job that allowed me to grow and learn in a more positive light. 20. How would you describe your personality? I'm extremely easygoing. love both being alone, and with many people. I think I am a nice mix of being introverted and extroverted. I love to spend time on my bicycle, hiking, playing piano, reading, and talking with everyone I come across. I enjoy watching amazing documentaries and learning about the history of the world and current events going on in our planet. I love to listen to people's stories, and getting to know new people. I love to co-create with others, whether it's music, or other forms of art. I have become a very patient person (I have to thank the children for that.)Boy do kids teach you patience!! :) 21. How would you characterize your strengths? My strengths are patience, the ability to listen authentically, and the inner peace I have when crisis occurs and life takes a crazy turn. 22. How would you characterize your weaknesses? My weakness could be that I love people so much and can spend more time trying to take care of their needs over my own. But I'm learning to find a healthy balance. :) 23. Tell us a little bit about what it's like to live with you Typical bed time, wake time, favorite activities, what do you like to eat, what don't you like to eat? My bedtime depends on my work schedule! I usually like to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night. Sleep is really important to me. Good news for you though! I can sleep through every noise in the world! Seriously. There could be a zoo outside my window and I would be sleeping sound and never know it. So please don't be worried that you or your kids might wake me. I usually like to wake up early and exercise, read, meditate, and get a head start on the day! My favorite activities are riding my bicycle, hiking, reading, watching documentaries, creating music and art, singing, listening to people's stories, creating healthy meals, talking about spiritual growth, and serving others (volunteering and working). I love to eat everything that is created from raw ingredients. Eating mostly raw has significantly improved my health and well-being in life and I am so grateful! I also eat vegetarian fed chicken, grass-fed beef, and wild caught fish. I like to stick to a natural diet. FOODS I CANNOT EAT: DAIRY (butter, yogurt, milk, cheese, etc.), WHITE/BROWN SUGAR (I can have cane sugar though!) 24. How is your health? How many times have you been sick in the past year? My health is very well! I have lots of energy. I have not had a cold in over 12 months! I did get strep throat once this past winter, but it only lasted a couple of days, thankfully. 25. How long have you had a driver's license? Any accidents or tickets? I've had my driver's license for almost 4 years now. I have never had an accident, but I have had a few speeding tickets to be honest with you. I have learned my lesson and do not speed anymore! (unless it's an accident). 26. What is your educational background? I have a High School Diploma. I have taken the CNA course at Dakota Technical College. 27. What do you most want to get out of life? I want to share the beauty of life with those around me. I want to spend my life serving others and enjoying this ride of life in the most beautiful way.
