I know how difficult and stressful it is when choosing someone to care for our children. I welcome every opportunity for you to get to know me before making such an important decision. I have lived in the area for about 8 years and have many professional and personal references, particularly at the local elementary school. I have two sweet, happy, healthy children of my own. Being one of the oldest of 7 children, I was always helping with the little ones and played a motherly role from a very young age. I know CPR and First Aid (lifeguard for 6 yrs) although I am no longer certified. I was a nanny full-time for about 4 years to a family with 3 boys under the age of 5, while caring for their grandmother who had Alzheimer's, along with housekeeping and errands. My strongest personality traits are that I am incredibly patient and kind. Amid chaos I remain calm and consistent, with a loving heart, no matter what the circumstances happen to be. I provide an environment where kids are safe, healthy, happy, loved, and respected for the little individuals that they are, while teaching them to respect others as well as themselves. I make the most out of everyday activities to promote learning through nature, baking, reading, music, games, crafts, etc. I am a strong advocate of living a healthy lifestyle, keeping our children free of unnecessary illness and behavior issues. My background also consists of graphic design which allowed me to work from my home office and stay home with my children most of the time, although at times I needed childcare for them as well. I also previously owned 2 franchises where we employed mostly high school students, and often said that it felt as if we had 15 teenagers of our own! A very enlightening experience, and one that we enjoyed very much. I chose to leave the design career behind, since I find I am happiest being the caretaker, nurturer and role model for kids.
