Our son's wonderful nanny, Elsy, is looking for a new position at the end of September when our son goes to preschool. She has taken care of him for over two years and we absolutely adore her. She is incredibly professional, loving, and dedicated. She is a natural with both babies and toddlers. We hate to see her go, and whoever works with her next is very lucky! She is a native Spanish speaker, and as a result our son now speaks Spanish. Although Spanish is her primary language, she is comfortable communicating about his day in English. (I speak some Spanish, but my husband only speaks English, and he has no problem communicating with her about our son.) She has eight years of childcare experience, a degree in elementary education from her home country of Honduras, her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential (infant, toddler, and preschool endorsements), pediatric First Aid and CPR certification, and a current FBI background check. If you would like more details, I can email you her resume. She is very professional. Each day we get a written report about his day. Amazingly, she has never called in sick. She is always on time, and is willing to babysit in the evenings if needed. We always marvel at her energy and her never-ending patience. Plus, she leaves the house spotless! I don't know how she does it - it baffles me! Every day when she arrives, my son is thrilled and runs to hug her. He gets more excited to see her than my husband or me. She structures the day very nicely. First, they read books while eating breakfast. She then runs a "circle time" for him and another little girl who is in a nanny share with us. They sing songs, learn letters, colors, numbers, and new vocabulary. Then they play, do an art project, go to the library and/or the park, and come home for lunch. They read more books, take a nap, and then get up and go for a walk and play games. Occasionally, they take a trip to a museum on the metro. In short, the quality of care she provides is extremely high. My husband and I could not be happier, and neither could our son! Because we are so thankful for everything she has done for our family, I would like to help her find her next position. She is looking for an infant or young toddler, or a nanny share. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact me. Thank you, Emily
