I was a full time live-out nanny to "Sophie" from the time she was six months old until she turned 3 at which time she started school. She is now 9 years old. She calls me weekly and still calls me "Nanny". I have been involved with early childhood development for over 10 years. I was also a parent/child gymnastics instructor at The Little Gym of Greenville in Greenville, SC. I also taught infant/toddler/adult swimming many years ago. I do not currently have my Water Safety Instructors license but am very comfortable helping children learn the basics of swimming and enjoying the water. I am CPR and First Aide certified. The most rewarding thing about childcare is watching children grow and learn and having fun while doing so. Teaching cognitive skills along with preproceptive senses (body awareness) and stimulating the vestibular system (balance) is so very important for children to be well rounded. But they must have fun while they are learning!!!
