Mature Caring and Congenial Woman for Part-time or Occasional Child/Adult Care in Norfolk Hello! A Norfolk resident for 25 years, I have strong local character references. I charge fair rates, and the rates are the same for day, evening or overnight assignments. The rate for adult care is the same as it is for child care. Please call for further conversation regarding adult care. My fee is basically $10 an hour and requires a minimum of 3 hours per assignment. This fee is negotiable depending on your needs and my responsibilities. The "3-hour minimum" is waived for assignments within walking distance of my neighborhood (23507). There's no extra charge for simple meal preparation, reading aloud or assisting children with homework. (Though if they're studying advanced subjects, your children may have to tutor me instead! And if your children prefer to do the reading aloud themselves, I'll listen happily.) When time allows and the children are so inclined, I encourage creative projects, board games and pc or laptop activities that nurture knowledge and imagination. Computer use would be limited of course according to your instructions. I also try to steer children away from passive tv watching but again will accommodate your wishes on the subject. One very important point for most parents: I don't drive. I did obtain a license years ago (to prove that I could) but never used it; I never wanted to drive and had little need to until now, so I plan to get a license this year but don't expect to be a fully capable or confident driver until a few months afterwards at the very least. In the meantime, I'm happy walk with, drop off and pick up, children whose schools are within walking distance of their homes, and to use taxis when need be.
