Preschool Lead Teacher position available working with 3-4 year olds and a small, well-respected stand-alone preschool setting. Essential job duties for our 3K Lead Teacher include: -Carry out the stated philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of Peace Christian Preschool as established by the Board of Directors and written in the Policy Handbook -Plan and implement a curriculum designed to meet social, emotional, spiritual, physical and intellectual needs of children enrolled in the program: -Develop goals and objectives for each child enrolled in cooperation with the Team Teacher -Assist children in learning self-help skills and appropriate personal hygiene habits -Evaluate each child at three to four month time frames to assess child's needs and progress -Design and maintain a learning environment conducive to meeting the developed goals for children -Provide multicultural components within the curriculum -Coordinate staff responsibilities within the classroom necessary to implement the curriculum -Plan, share, and post weekly lesson plans -Maintain individual progress records for each child and report any special needs to the Center Director -Establish and maintain open and effective lines of communication among staff/staff and staff/parents including but not limited to keeping staff and parents informed of program plans, events, needs, or other information about children or families -Plan, schedule, conduct parent/teacher conferences as needed, but at least twice per year -Plan and implement opportunities for parent involvement, including daily communication with each child's parent -Maintain necessary classroom records -Participate in trainings, conferences, workshops, staff meetings and other career development opportunities -Prepare and present classroom report for monthly Board Meetings -Remain in compliance with required Continuing Education -Assist in supervision, training, and evaluation of staff in cooperation with the Center Director -Offer input on necessary updates for classroom and center -Offer input into the annual program budget -Assure that equipment and materials are available, accessible, appropriate and in good condition The position is part time, 8:00 AM-12:00 PM MWF and will begin August 20, 2014. An Associate's degree in Early Childhood or Preschool Credential/Experience is required; Bachelor's in Early Childhood preferred. Paid holidays & vacations, paid sick days and cash stipend in lieu of benefits. Rate of pay is between $12.35- $.../hour.
