My husband and I are moving out of state, and are sad to have to part ways with our son's amazing nanny, Esthela. She is available for work immediately and we want to make sure that she finds a great family before we leave. She is looking for a full-time position preferably in Queens or Manhattan. Esthela started taking care of our son when he was three months old. She is highly experienced, gentle, nurturing, loving and patient. Now, at 16 months old, he lights up and goes running to her when she arrives. Esthela has a background in education, and it shows. She is always singing songs, playing games, and doing creative activities to encourage his learning and development -- even when he was just a newborn. She has a lot of energy, and keeps him active by proactively seeking out activities in the neighborhood, like Spanish Immersion class, Spanish music sing-alongs, sign language class, the YMCA and sometimes even field trips on the subway to museums or the zoo. She has also made sure that our son is well socialized with other children his age. Esthela built up an impressive personal network of local (Spanish) nannies in our neighborhood who were caring for babies our son's age. We got to know many of his "friends'" parents and nannies over the months. Esthela is fluent in both Spanish and English, but we encouraged her to speak to our son primarily in Spanish. (We even picked up a few words along the way). She is very open to feedback, easy to talk to and has great instincts. She is also a mother so as first-time parents we appreciated her support and guidance on tougher issues like nap schedules, weaning, teething, illness etc. We often enjoyed coming home early and just spending time with her and our son. She knows how to properly handle breast milk and formula, made his meals, did his laundry and left our apartment immaculate. She was diligent about keeping track of his feeding and nap schedule and would also run small errands (picking up items for him at the store, or bringing him to the doctor if he was sick). My husband and I are both working professionals with busy, unpredictable schedules. She was very flexible and willing to stay overtime if we were running late. I think the most important thing is that we trusted her completely and felt like she truly cared for our son. It isn't an easy thing to go back to work and leave your newborn with someone new, but we knew right away that our son was in the best of hands with Esthela and that is priceless. We are truly lucky to have found her. Therefore it is with heavy hearts that we have to part ways because our family is moving out of state. Esthela enriched our son's life and ours in a special way.
