For the past 29 years I have worked as a Nanny for families with up to three children from newborn through young school age. After living in NH and FL I have recently relocated back "home" to OKC and am looking for my next full time position. Michelle Barron has been our nanny for over 8 years on a full time basis. She started with us when our first daughter was 4 months old. Michelle has been a great fit for our family and needs. When our children were babies, Michelle was great about getting them on a schedule and establishing a routine. She engaged them right away in activities like library story time, music class, trips to the zoo and play dates with the “nanny group.” They would always be out of the house and doing something engaging and social every day. Michelle kept a daily journal of their schedule, meals and play activities. As our children got older, Michelle adjusted the activities to suit their growing needs. She has been key to their ability to go to dance class 3 days a week, ensuring they arrived to class on time and with all of their dance gear. Michelle also took our older daughter to swim lessons throughout the years. This past year, Michelle has picked up both of our daughters from two different schools every afternoon. She also continued to support their love of reading by regularly checking books out of the library for them even through the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to child care activities, Michelle has helped with a number of other household chores. She has done all of the girls’ laundry plus all of our towels and sheets. She has trimmed their finger and toenails, washed dishes, emptied the dishwasher, purged the refrigerator and pantry of expired items and run errands like picking up miscellaneous groceries. Michelle has always made a point of ensuring that the house is ready for our cleaning person when she comes. Michelle also helped our older daughter with her reading homework by listening to her read aloud for 20 minutes every night and making sure she logged it in her reading journal. Some of the reasons why we chose and retained Michelle as our nanny for 8+ years are: She is experienced and extremely competent working with infants. She created a great network among the other nannies and caregivers so the children had a group of friends to do activities with. She treated our children as people instead of babies, showing them respect but also holding them accountable. She taught them good manners, including saying “please” and “thank-you.” She is very “hands on” and involved; she enjoys her time with the girls and getting to do “kid” stuff with them. She was also very loving and caring with our 2 dogs, including trimming their toe nails and always remembering to give one of our dogs his anti-anxiety medicine before thunderstorms. Michelle has been extremely dependable. She has never missed a day of work due to illness, and she is consistently punctual.

I am happy to provide a recommendation for Michelle. Michelle served as a nanny for our family for years in Orlando. At the time, we had an infant and a preschooler. Her duties included full time care for our baby, picking up our preschooler from preschool, and afternoon activities for both kids. She prepared meals, did laundry and light house clean up. She is trustworthy, caring, fun, kind, hard working and loves working with children. We moved to Tampa during her time with us and we loved her so much we tried to convince her to move with us. She will be an asset to any family she joins.

Michelle was our nanny for our two girls from birth until kindergarten. She was a wonderful edition to our family and took care of our children as if they were her own. She was always dependable and never missed a day of work for in the 4 years she worked with us. She established routines and habits that have benefitted our girls to this day. She was loving but no push over. Our children had a great respect for Michelle and the rules that she and I established for them. Although our girls are now a senior in high school and college freshman I still receive compliments often on what excellent human being they are. I credit much of this to Michelle's hand in their development as young children. I would recommend her without hesitation.

“Michelle worked for me from the time my first child was born through my second child entering kindergarten. Michelle is a child development professional that partners with the parent(s) to provide the best opportunities and development environment for your child(ren). She accomplishes this while being caring and fun with your child(ren). Michelle is very reliable. It is easy to work with Michelle. She collaborates with you to ensure there is consistency for the child(ren) with respect to their daily routine and behavioral expectations, which is so important for young child(ren) to feel secure and develop confidence. Michelle is also very observant, and willing to share those observations to support your child(ren)’s development. It truly is a pleasure for both parent(s) and child(ren) to work with Michelle. My now adult children recall their time with Michelle fondly. Having Michelle as our nanny was a a great experience for all. ”
