In home Christian daycare/preschool near 19th Ave & Thunderbird.  I am a certified teacher with a BA in early childhood education from Ottawa University. I have taught preschool in the Head Start program for the past two years, but I chose not to renew my contract at the end of this year so I can stay home with my own children, ages 10, 5, and 3. I am establishing my daycare as a preschool program. My approach is creativity and exploration based preschool. We'll be doing lots of hands on activities to help teach basic pre-kindergarten school readiness skills including letters, numbers, counting, shapes, and colors. We'll be doing lots of art projects, pretend play, patterning, literacy activities, music, games, name practice, blocks/building activities, and so much more! These activities can all be adapted for children of any age! I believe in encouraging preschoolers to develop independence and initiative by doing age appropriate things for themselves. I also believe in the power of talking to children and encouraging communication, while also being sensitive to different personality types (shy children tend to be quieter, etc.). I also LOVE reading books about anything and everything! Full day, before and after school care, evenings, and weekends available, as well as homework help and tutoring. Healthy meals and snacks are provided. I am CPR/First Aid certified, with a valid AZ DPS fingerprint clearance card (background check).  Please email me with price inquiries.
