I had a licensed Family Day Care Home in Lansdale while raising my 4 children. I taught and loved 4-6 children 12 months to 12 years of age. We had daily lesson plans, games, crafts, outdoor activities and field trips. I participated in a healthy meal plan. One year I was potty training 4 children at the same time. Now, that was interesting! Recently, I decided to venture forth again into this rewarding field. I currently care for a 3 year old energetic boy, a 4 year old fun loving girl, and a 5 year old creative girl. My 5 year old in starting kindergarten in the fall. We have wonderful adventures together. Everyone loves the wide variety of musical instruments at our home. Music is a part of our daily experiences (playing instruments, singing, and/or listening to various styles of music). We do go outside almost every day(weather permitting). There is a large play area with swings, sand,round -a-bout, and slides. I also love to go on walks. We have all been learning some basic sign language. I find it's another way to encourage polite words. I love to pick a theme for the day and create fun ways to learn and play around it. I have been blessed with an amazing Child Care set up. It's like a One-Room Schoolhouse. Beautiful wooden tables, chairs, play refrigerators, stoves, etc. We discuss the weather, and I have a calendar with dates on Velcro. Books, books and more books, reading is a part of our everyday experience. Dress up, blocks, play dough,letters, numbers, science experiments, baking,puzzles, and songs are just part of an average day. We have meals, snacks and quiet time. I have always enjoyed playing and learning with children. My husband has been a pastor for over 20 years. I have worked in Children's Ministry for just as long. I have taught Sunday School and/or Junior Church for over 20 years. I have been involved in Vacation Bible School for 5 years. I have been a Youth Group Leader (or assistant) and a Christian Education Chair for over 7 years. I have had a Puppet Ministry of some type for over 20 years . I truly want to love, cherish and teach your child.
