Aloha, My name is Kuulei, born and raised in Kailua-Kona. I was brought up being the youngest of 5 children and shadowed my mother alot as she ran her home-based child care facility. I picked up a job at a preschool for after-hours care of children ages 2 to 9. After completing high school I started to get my education in Early Childhood Development but stopped shy of completion to pursue an opportunity in agriculture. As I returned back some couple years later to child care, I became a classroom assistant to 2 preschools thereafter. I currently manage a Family Entertainment Center and am looking to provide my child care services on the side to families in my area. With my experience of working with children, I usually make the time fun and creative. I like to allow the children to self express themselves by doing projects like painting, gluing items, expressing imagination play, or even thinking of fun things to do with items we have. I am good at the small reminders like going to the bathroom (depending on the ages, more often than not), asking if they are thirsty or hungry, basic manners and just checking up on how they are doing. I currently do childcare out from my first floor condo in Kona Coffee Villas, Holualoa/Honalo area. There is a pool on the property with a shallow 1 1/2 children section. (If we ever plan to go to the pool I usually give notice day before so parents can pack appropriately). There is also a tennis and basketball court. I have toys and fun things to do here at my home including art supplies (paints, markers/crayons, glitter glue, paper, tissue paper, jewels, ect), sports balls (football's, soccer balls, baseballs, goofballs, etc.), board games, children tents, etc. If there is childcare needed off-site of my home, I can coordinate depending on my schedule.
