Daddy Daycare We are opening a Daddy Daycare located at 37 Veronica Drive, Martinsburg, WV 25404. We are excited to announce a truly one of its kind daycare facility that will be the largest in the area, accommodating up to 140 children. Our fundamental model is experiential education! What is experiential education? Experiential learning is a process through which students develop knowledge, skills, and values from direct experiences outside of a traditional academic setting. It encompasses a variety of activities including but not limited to sports, play, art, music, and other creative experiences. Well-planned, supervised and assessed experiential learning programs can stimulate academic inquiry by promoting interdisciplinary learning, engagement, and development in the Cognitive, Psychomotor and Affective domains. With this as our platform, Daddy Daycare will provide children with a safe place with every opportunity to explore their world and learn. Learning that is considered "experiential" contains all the following elements: 1. Reflection, critical analysis and synthesis 2. Opportunities for students to take initiative, make decisions, and be accountable for the results 3. Opportunities for students to engage intellectually, creatively, emotionally, socially, or physically 4. A designed learning experience that includes the possibility to learn from natural consequences, mistakes, and successes in a safe environment DADDY DAYCARE will focus on aiding in the process of developing the whole child. We believe that it takes an entire village to raise a child. We would love to be a part of this important process with your child, while you the parent are managing all of life’s challenges. DADDY DAYCARE- Cognitive skills development: Children will have the unique experience of having a variety of disciplines at their fingertips. The mind of a young child absorbs information like a sponge; through structured and unstructured activities, play, and interaction with others, children are constantly processing information about their world. From these collective experiences, young children develop their understanding and abilities in areas such as math, science, music (piano, guitar, harp, and drums), language (foreign languages), and art. DADDY DAYCARE- Psychomotor or Physical skills development: During a child’s early life, a great deal of rapid physical development occurs. Through play and sports-related activities (soccer, basketball, karate, etc.), we will help children to build their gross motor (crawling, walking, running) and fine motor (hand-eye coordination) skills. Our focus is not on competition, but rather on building the individual skill-sets of the child. DADDY DAYCARE- Affective Skill or Social & Emotional skills development: Social development: Understanding how to communicate, share, make friends, and get along with others is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to social development in the first five years of life. Emotional development: The building blocks for a positive self-esteem and self-confidence start in early childhood. Young children are also learning how to manage and appropriately express their own emotions such as fear, sadness, anger, and happiness. Daddy Day care will provide a safe environment in which children can develop communication skills and express themselves in a healthy way. Social and emotional health often comes hand in hand since a child’s ability to interact socially often impacts his or her emotional well-being.
