Sherri Thornton has served as our caregiver for our 8-month-old twin girls for the previous 4 months. Sherri has gone above and beyond in her time with us, consistently exceeding our expectations. Sherri is reliable and very punctual, always arriving earlier than her scheduled start time. She has no problem taking care of both babies at the same time and always appears relaxed and confident in her work. When Sherri is here, we know that our children will be safe and well-cared for, and we have no concerns about leaving them with her without our supervision. Her love for children and her work is evident in her interactions with our kids, and they absolutely adore her. Both babies shriek with joy every morning that she arrives. Sherri gives them her undivided attention, she sings songs, plays games, reads books, and laughs with them as they attempt new skills. She pays special attention to the requests we make, adopts our requests, and follows our instructions for how we want our girls to be cared for. Sherri had detailed plans for instruction with the girls and adapted curriculum she had used in her time from working at a daycare to our girls. Each day, she worked with the babies on their gross motor skills, like rolling over, as well as fine motor skilled activities, like opening and closing their hands and holding their own bottles. With her instruction, our girls’ physical abilities have improved dramatically. Moreover, Sherri has been teaching our girls (and us!) basic American Sign Language. Sherri is truly a Godsend. If we were not moving across the country, we would keep her in our employment as long as possible. We highly recommend Sherri and would be happy to speak with anyone who wants a reference for her.
