My name is Christina and I am a Psychology major at KSU. I have over 10 years of being a babysitter and a nanny during which time I have cared for as few as 1 and as many as 8 children at one time (including multiples: twins and triplets). I've worked with children whose ages ranged from infant through middle school. I have also worked as an afternoon preschool teacher, camp counselor, VBS teacher, and I work in the church nursery. I enjoy spending time interacting with the children in my care and treat them as if they were my own. I encourage creativity and independence while maintaining my role as caretaker and authority figure. I believe that when children are given freedom to be themselves but are aware of the boundaries of acceptable/unacceptable behavior they are more likely to follow the rules. I believe in redirecting when possible, but when discipline (time out or loss of toy/privilege) is required it is done in a timely fashion with love and the understanding that it was the behavior, not the child, that was bad. I always come prepared with arts and crafts supplies, movies (for rainy or sick days), books, and coloring/activity sheets. I am a good swimmer and am happy to supervise/play at the pool as well. I have my own car seats or I can use yours for trips. Outings in the past have included places such as the zoo, the aquarium, Six Flags, locals parks, Monkey Joe's, Chuck E. Cheese's, etc. My availability for the summer is open effective 5/29/13 with the exception of June 12-14 as I will be out of town on those dates. Come the fall I will be available Monday evenings (after 5:30 pm) Tuesdays until 5pm, Thursdays all day, and Fridays after 12:30. Resume and references are available upon request.
