Sitter in Lexington, Kentucky

My name is Kate Collins and I have 8 years of paid experience in early childhood education (not counting my teenage babysitting years). I worked at HCM Eastern Star Daycare in Louisville Kentucky and became a regular sitter for many families there. I started off as the lead teacher for a class of toddlers, (just before to just after 1 year). I then moved to be a coteacher for a class of 3 and 4 year olds, where we focused on product oriented, child led activities. After working there for 6 years, I moved to California where I was a private nanny for a family with one little boy. I cared for him for two years. He was five when I started so I picked him up from school, did homework, took him to his activities, and planned activities and excursions for us during the summer. One of our favorite things to do was to perform science experiments. I recently moved back to Kentucky, and am currently in my junior year of college at the University of Kentucky where I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Physics. I have been working this past school year in the Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching on UK's campus. I am looking for a summer position, while I will be out of school.
