Hi there! I am a mother to a 1.5 year old, also caring for a 2 year old, and I am offering full time child care in my home beginning the week of November 23 for one child, ideally between ages 1 and 3. I have been in the early childhood education field for the last 7 years, with experience as a nanny (2 years), a preschool teacher (1.5 years), child care center director (1 year) and supervisor of early childhood programs and preschools 2.5 years). I hold a bachelor's degree in education and have over 75 hours of training in subjects related to early childhood education and development. I can offer a low adult to child ratio of 1:3. I provide nutritional snacks and lunch, a safe and nurturing environment with a fenced outdoor area, and a consistent daily routine full of sensory, gross motor, and imaginative play, with plenty of exposure to art and music. Our very friendly English Spinger Spaniel will also help the children become comfortable around dogs and develop a sense of empathy for animals. I believe that children need consistency and understanding from their care providers, and the opportunity to make their own choices as much as possible to give them a sense of control in their world, which can feel overwhelming for toddlers who are just learning how to assert their independence. I charge a weekly rate of $240, and am able to provide care between 7:30am and 6pm, Monday through Friday. Unfortunately, I am unable to accept state assistance payments at this time.
