Hello, my name is April Kitowski and I am a Kitchener/Waterloo resident with over 10 years of childcare experience. I am available for daytime or evening work (with the exception of Sundays, Wednesday evenings and Thursday evenings) beginning immediately until September 2013. I recently got accepted to the occasional teaching list for the Waterloo Region District School Board and have been supply teaching for the elementary school board since January 2013. My previous experience includes one year at the After School Antics program at the KW YMCA; one year as a Satellite Program leader (before and after school care program) for the Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton; 3 years at the Whislter Children's Centre as a head teacher for a preschool in Whistler, B.C.; Kindergarten teacher in Taichung, Taiwan for one year; a year of practicums during my 4 years at Brock University (BSc/BEd) in the concurrent science and education program; and finally 3 years as a lifeguard and swimming instructor for the City of Hamilton. I enjoy being outdoors, yoga, hiking, snowboarding and animals. I like to experience new things and be creative in the kitchen from perfecting the perfect playdough recipe to creating a new smoothie everyday!
