Hi, my name is Ariel and I am a senior in high school at Eastmont. During my sophomore and junior years of high school I took Child development for 2 semesters, which is the class that allows high school students to assist in the Wee Wildcats Preschool next door. After taking these courses I was able to earn my STARS certificate. I also grew up in an in home daycare and have a lot of experience with and observation of the inner workings of a childcare facility. I am currently taking Teaching Academy, which allows me to be a teaching assistant every morning in a Kindergarten class at Kenroy Elementary. I love children and I work with them daily. I also love to do art, such as ceramics (I am in advanced ceramics class) and sewing/knitting. I get along great with animals, I am a fur mother to two cats and a hamster and live in the same household as a pitbull mix and a husky mix so I am not afraid of big dogs either. I volunteered for 6 months at the humane society and often go there to visit the animals. I love giving back to my community and try to give blood as regularly as I can with my school and work schedule. I currently am employed part time at Pizza Hut as a cook, and I have held that job since January of 2015. I’m working on studying to take the ParaPro Assessment, which would allow me to work at a school as a paraeducator while I study to become an elementary school teacher. Unfortunately because of school I am only available in the early morning till 815 AM and after school from 2:30 onwards on the weekdays but am free on the weekends. I hope that you will consider me to care for your little ones when you need it and I promise you that I will do my best to prove that I am worthy of that privilege!
