Hi! I'm Kirsten and I moved to Arcata recently with 10 years' childcare experience to offer to you and your family! I have been a regular babysitter, a committed nanny for 1-2 years, a camp counselor at an amazing organization focusing in challenge by choice and emotional intelligence, a science instructor, and birthday party host at a puppetry center. I truly enjoy fostering the development of kids of all ages, with my experience ranging from 10 months to 13 years of age. I have lived with 11-13 year olds at a residential summer camp, had extended stays with a friend with 3 boys under the age of 3, and I have been a part time nanny to preschoolers (infancy to age 5). I enjoy a calm and gentle approach to getting to know children though I have a creative, outgoing, and active personality. I love arts and crafts as well as sports and outdoors activities, in addition to cooking and reading. I speak fluent Spanish and enjoy teaching as well as learning. I love to observe and promote that skill highly whenever I can! Disciplinary measures are up to you, the parent or guardian, and I respect beliefs and values of all kinds.
