Hello everyone and thank you for looking at our listing. We would like to tell you how this daycare began. We had a 2 year old son and he was in daycare. The daycare prided itself on the quality of care, the attention to detais, and the nourishment of the mind to produce children that were mentally ready to challenge the world. Unfortunately, after some time a few things began to make us nervous. The interaction with nature was virtually non-existent. The food they fed him was in no way in accordance with what we fed him at home. We believe that the concentration on his ABC's and 123's, should coincide, or be met with the same level of encouragement regarding his social interactions, his eating habits, his relationship to nature, and his physical health. Thus, we began our search for the perfect daycare or preschool. We didn't have much luck. They were either understanding and sympathetic to our requests but were not well organized and effective in preparing him academically. Or the opposite, which is a great curriculum, great teachers, great students, but seemed to have forgotten about life outside of the classroom, or were a little old fashioned in their approach. So out of necessity came our school. We were called holistic roots when we opened, but the local parents began to call us "The Brook House". So we have decided to acquiesce to the neighborhood jargon and have grown very comfortable with our new name. We are usually full, but every couple months a slot opens up for a new child. It is my hope that walking you, the parents, through our journey will inspire you to consider our school for your wonderful children. We believe that each child has the potential to become masters of themselves, and their environment.
