Sitter Job in Santa Barbara, California

My name is Shelly I'm 47 years old. I have a beautiful son who's starting 2nd grade and just passed first grade with an A . I am looking to get back into the workforce and could not be more excited to work with children. My son went to a parent-child workshop for three years and that's the reason I became so inspired to work with children. He was there for three years and I was very sad when he graduated. I was very sad because I loved being around all the other children and I only have one child myself. I would love to be able to help out during the day while my boy is at school and of course be able to be home in time for dinner with my son. I have my own car along with a perfect driving record and a perfect perfect background record. I have been in the fitness industry for well over 15 years and was the general manager for three fitness clubs here in Santa Barbara. I was a hairdresser in my twenties, and just get finished working in the bone health industry before I took a little break to be with my son. I absolutely love working with other people and especially children. I was lucky enough to volunteer and help my in my son's class for the last 3 months of the school that ended 1.5 months ago for summer vacation. I enjoyed it so much it motivated me to become a teacher's aide. However the demands to be a teacher's aide involve going back to college for no less than two years for my associate's degree. Unfortunately that is not an option due to finances. With that being said I thought what is another way to be around children? If not at school, then another great way would be at their own helping other single mommy's like myself, or other married couples that need extra help if both of the parents have full-time careers.. I'm very excited for this new career choice and I'm even more excited to meet any candidates that are interested in my services. There's no doubt in my mind once meeting me you will see my excitement and passion for helping others and especially their children. I will be honest I am not a chef, meaning not a very good cook, however I can make you great peanut butter and jelly sandwich and I'm pretty good with reading directions off a box. My goal is to stay within the Santa Barbara District and if anybody needs a date night? I will be happy to help in evenings also. There's no doubt in my mind that I will get along with any child that comes my way. Due to my son and I attending the parent-child workshop, that offered three years of Early Child education classes, that I've been around every type of child there is. Meaning happy, sad, children with separation anxiety, temper tantrums, potty training issues, learning disorders and a bunch more different cases. I've also spent a lot of time as I already mentioned and my child's first grade classroom. That's when I really decided my future should be with children. I waited until later in life to have my child and it was the best thing I've ever done for myself, because of that I am more than happy to share my love and passion for children and help out a family that needs a trustworthy, happy, energetic, honest, dependable, loyal, healthy fun babysitter. I am from the Midwest initially meaning my work ethic is off the chart. I have always been a hard working employee and have never burnt an employer-employee bridge. Anyone is MORE than welcome to speak to any boss I have ever had in the past to prove that point. I truly hope I get the chance to at least meet you and have a chance to talk. This is my first time in this field of work however I know for a fact I will be doing this until I retire and then some. Living in Santa Barbara for me retirement is not an option. I really hope you give me a chance if not just for a one-on-one interview.
