I am a licensed elementary educator looking to start caring for 1-3 children alongside my own 2 children (3 yrs and 9 mos) throughout the summer and, possibly, into the fall and beyond. I would be comfortable caring/teaching in your home or our home. I plan on implementing basic early education curriculum daily, and would also be happy to implement any (K-8) tutoring or lessons if you have older children, as needed/wanted. I wish to stay home with my children more - I have been subbing in the Edina Public School district for 3 years and staying home summers - and completely understand the frustration of childcare costs (my son currently goes to Kindercare..). This arrangement is meant to be a solution to that frustration for your family, and mine, while also providing a setting for loving care and continued learning. Cost and hours will be negotiated during an interview, along with expectations and wishes. Here's a little about our family: We love nature! We're big cyclists, hikers, and campers. I make it a priority to take the kids outside daily (We spend most of our days outdoors in the spring/summer). We love music and art! I am a violist and singer, and am currently undergoing beginning piano lessons with my 3-yr-old. I also have art explorations weekly, in our home or at the MIA (monthly Family Day is fantastic there!). We eat healthy, all natural foods - including a lot of organics. I love to cook and bake! So, expect good food for your children, as well, while under my care. I'm big on routine, which I believe is essential for children. Generally, we are a happy, active, loving family who regularly has dance parties in the living room or has puddle jumping marathons outside!
