Hello, my name is Miyoko. I am 36 years old and live in ABQ with my partner and our four legged fur-baby. I was born and raised (mostly) in California, but I have made NM home since 1996. I primarily work as a birth doula, childbirth educator, and placenta specialist, and I own and operate a business called Inspired Birth and Families in Albuquerque (inspiredABQ.....). I have been doing this work professionally since 2011. It was a natural addition to my work with expectant parents to also begin offering childcare services. I have a special affinity for newborns and infants, including experience with breast-milk and 'paced bottle-feeding', using baby-carriers (my favorite are ring-slings!), calming techniques (I love the 5 S's from Dr. Karp!), safe sleep practices, and everything else related to around-the-clock care for infants. Being on-call for my work as a birth doula does present some challenges to scheduling, and an ideal situation would have leniency and/or a backup plan if I was called to a birth (I typically take only 1 or 2 birth clients per month, so it would not be too regular or common). I am open to regular scheduled childcare, and occasional "date night" sitting.
