Hello! My name is Sara and I have been living and working in New York City for over 8 years. Originally from California, I came to New York to study music and theatre (NYU Gallatin 2010), but got side-tracked by social justice and community activism, which brought me to Columbia School of Social Work in 2011. After working by day as a social worker (specializing in children with behavioral challenges) and by night as a musician for over 2 years, I have finally decided to pursue music and theater full-time, and am currently working as a Teaching Artist in NYC public schools teaching music, poetry, and the occasional costume design class. I have extensive experience working with children with special needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorders and other behavioral difficulties such as ADHD.
