My name is Erika and I’m an AMI certified Montessori preschool teacher with 20 years preschool teaching experience. This school year, I’ll be home schooling my three year-old son and I invite your child to join us at Lilla Montessori ( https://....com/ ) I will be using the mixed age model accommodating children from age two and a half to six. The Montessori methodology provides an environment where the children explore and learn from each other as much as from the teacher. In this sense, the Montessori teacher’s’ main role is to provide the right environment and facilitate the child’s natural tendency to learn and explore rather than impart facts and instruct. A typical day at Lilla Montessori 8:00 am – 10:30 ~ Arrival and morning session. In the Montessori environment children start to work the moment they arrive. They have fruit snack (provided by Lilla), wash their hands and continue to work. 10:30 am – 11:00 am ~ Gathering / Circle time. Each child talks to the group about specified topics, questions or whatever is on their mind. 11:00 am – 12 pm ~ Lunch. Parents provide their children’s lunch. Lilla provides milk, water and fruit snacks. 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm ~ Story/Music time. I read a story to the group or we listen to music and together we discuss the words, sounds, imagery, feelings and meaning. 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm ~ Outside play – if the weather permits. 2:15 pm – 2:30 pm ~ Snack time. Lilla provides fruit, yoghurt, or any other kind of afternoon snacks. 2:30 pm – 3:00 pm ~ Montessori pedagogy, free play, dismissal. Ages Children ages two and a half to six years of age. Weekly Fee: Standard Montessori Program My main program is a weekly home daycare program with a Montessori curriculum. I offer a standard program from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM for $195 per child, per week. Hourly Fee: After-School Care For parents who can’t pick up their child at 3:00 PM, I can provide after school care on a flexible basis from 3:00 to 6:00 for $18 per child, per hour. Daily Fee: Drop-Off Care If you don’t require daily daycare, your child is still welcome to join us for a day here or there. This may be useful if you need a day to run errands. Day rate for drop off care is $78 from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM per child. I can provide extended coverage beyond 3:00 PM up to 6:00 PM for $18 per child, per hour. Children can start anytime during the year Children can join at any point in the school year.
