Hello! I am offering a very exceptional style of home daycare, located in Bells Corners Lynwood Village. The following outlines my childcare philosophy and what I intend to provide for your child: Montessori Materials I like to provide Montessori materials for children to learn from. The materials stimulate the mind and the senses and are also tactile for children to develop gross and fine motor skills. They are self-correcting so that the child knows if they are succeeding or not with the activity. For younger children, the material is simplistic and tactile. The goal is to grab the child's attention and teach them focus. Using the hands in new ways allows them to develop skills to help them in their daily life. Visual stimulation with colour, shape, texture, as well as letters and numbers is key with this age group. Nutritious Meals Children need nutrition from various sources during the developing years. It is especially important at this age to provide children with nutrient dense foods that will nourish their rapidly growing bodies and minds. Such food should taste good but not overstimulate them. Food is an important factor in determining a child's ability to learn and keep focus. Fresh and properly cooked fruits and vegetables are of course very important. Meats and animal products prepared organically as much as possible provide important nutrients. Cooking methods are important such as using safe pots and pans and slow or light cooking methods to preserve nutrition. The Environment Only natural products used to clean the child's environment. Children should also be surrounded by nature as much as possible. Being outside is important as well as having some of the outside indoors - plants, natural materials, fresh air, etc. The environment is calming so that children can feel relaxed and at peace. Children in a calm environment can better learn, sleep and enjoy themselves because they are properly stimulated.
